IceStone® durable surfaces are created from 100% recycled glass in a cement matrix. Manufactured in a day-lit facility in Brooklyn, NY, Ice Stone is the recipient of the prestigious Cradle to Cradle gold certification for its commitment to socially and environmentally responsible business practices. Available in 24 colors and a variety of glass speckled styles, IceStone’s subdued, earthy tones and deep, saturated hues hold an unparallel eye-catching appeal.
IceStone surfaces can be mounted horizontally or vertically and are ideal for kitchen countertops and backsplashes, bathroom vanities, shower walls, and tabletops. IceStone surfaces are fabricated in virtually the same manners as solid natural surfaces such as granite and marble, and can handle pressures of 13,000 pounds per inch, making them highly resistant to chipping and scratching.
IceStone surfaces are VOC free and will last a lifetime if cared for properly. Due to their high recycled content and close proximity to Portsmouth (less than 500 miles), installation of this stunning material can contribute to LEED® points. Like other stone surfaces, IceStone must be treated once a year, preferably with a low VOC, water based penetrating sealer to prevent staining. As well, IceStone should be cleaned with a low pH cleanser as needed.
IceStone slabs are manufactured in a day-lit facility at the Navy Yard in Brooklyn, New York. The water they use to cut and polish the slabs with their state of the art equipment is recycled for use in their facility with a grey water system. As well, the waste from its own manufacturing processes is recycled into road surfacing materials. IceStone will also recycle the left over materials from your home project.
