Originally manufactured for use in skateboard ramps in rainy Seattle, PaperStone surfaces are ideal for kitchen countertops, bathroom vanities, tabletops and other surfaces for those interested in style and sustainability. PaperStone comes in a wide range of earthy, warm colors, and unlike other natural, solid surfaces and terrazzo like composites, it is warm to the touch and the eye.
PaperStone is made from recycled paper and is available in a line of colors manufactured using recycled paper and cardboard. PaperStone Original consists of 50% post consumer recycled content. PaperStone Certified is made with 100%, FSC certified recycled paper. The fibers that go into each slab are baked in a proprietary phenolic resin that makes the material stronger than granite and virtually waterproof. It can be fabricated with conventional woodworkers tools such as a carbide tipped blade, thus capable of being edged and shaped into a variety of styles.
