As with all of our products, we carefully considered our full selection criteria when choosing our suppliers for eco friendly tiles. Both companies process their tiles with the environment and the future in mind.

Blazestone Tiles by Bedrock

100% Recycled Glass Tiles

Blazestone tiles are handmade by a small group of dedicated artisans who express a love for art in glass and in their work. Their tiles come in 26 different shapes and sizes, and 37 colors, from earth tones to rich hues to watery calming colors. Additionally, Bedrock Industries offers tumbled glass which can be used for Mosaics and other creative applications. Tumbled glass looks and feels just like Sea Glass.

Blazestone tiles are made from 100% recycled glass using a sintering process (granules of glass are fused) rather than the more energy intensive melting process. Bedrock uses a mix of post-industrial and post consumer glass for their tiles, gathering the materials from a variety of resources. Some of their glass comes from window and windshield manufacturers, while much of it also comes from recyclers gathering used bottles and other glass components. Bedrock also achieves many of its rich colors by recycling waste glass from stained glass factories. In order to encourage the recycling process, Bedrock also offers 20 cents per pound for glass brought to their facility. Crush Glass Tiles

100% Recycled Glass Tiles

Crush 100% Recycled Glass Tiles (formally Sandhill Glass Tiles) are available in 36 vibrant and watery hues, and 8 sizes and shapes. Crush Glass tiles are handmade using raw materials. As a result, there is a slight variation in color, sizes, and texture that enhances the beauty of this fresh alternative to ceramic tile. Crush Glass Tiles have just the right tile color to bring light and life to your home.

Crush 100% Recycled Glass Tiles have been recognized by the EPA for environmental excellence and leadership in pollution prevention. Crush Glass Tiles are made from 100% post industrial recycled glass. According to the National Institute of Standards and Technology, energy consumption for the manufacture of 1 pound of finished ceramic tile is estimated to be approximately 1,800 Btus. Crush Glass Tile uses less than 750 Btu per finished pound. This is achievable by using a sintering process to manufacture the tiles instead of using a melting process.
